I was scampering around trying to find a 2200uF @ 10v capacitor and found plenty of 2200 @ 16v would that cause any damage to my board? it's a SSB motherboard and a cap is obviously bad if not going bad. it's bloated. =\ thanks
To elaborate on why, the voltage is the maximum safe voltage for the capacitor. The uf (micro farrad) rating is the amount of energy stored and discharged. You can always use a higher voltage safely as it is simply the maximum the component can take.
