I'm working on my Asteroids Deluxe, and doing trial & error to get it working. The game itself works, but the monitor doesn't come on (game plays blind). Monitor PCB LED lights up and there is neck glow. I'm now thinking Cap Kit, but I'd thought to run it by everyone here.

What's the typical monitor for an AD? I'd like to order a kit from BR to get this game working. Thanks!

With an Asteroids Deluxe black & white vector.....it'll usually be an Electrohome G05-802 or a Wells-Gardner V2000 series. While a cap kit is a good idea.....caps alone, usually don't fix vectors.

Gotcha, Ed. As I was reading your response, I quickly thought, 'resistors'. Thanks for your input.

A cap kit is a good start, hopefully it'll fix it too.

While you're doing the CAP kit. Reflow all the solder joints to the connector pins. Even if they look good, re-flow them. Sucking out the solder and putting in new is even better, but do what you can.

I just did my first monitor on my Asteroids and after it was CAP'ed, it turned right on with no issues. A great feeling!
