I'm trying to get 5v across my jamma extender. So far no luck. The PSU is reading 4.88-4.91v and when it's hitting the edge connector it's dropping to around 4.4. Any suggestions on ensuring 5v at the edge connector?

Check the connections in the extender. Also, if the wiring in the extender cable is any smaller than 18 gauge it needs to be replaced.

I just replaced a PS on a nintendo cab that maxed out at 4.69. It was causing strobing video issue and odd audio. Put in a new PS and it was good to go at 5.09.

So maybe try a new PS and or a more powerful heavy duty PS if you need it. Check the wires and connnections too as suggested.

Not all the wires are connected...as in 1 5v and 1 ground...not good I think. I'll run more tonight.

Right now I'm using a PC PSU as a bench tester and it's throwing a little low...need to get something stronger.

Get a Bob Roberts Jamma extender and it'll be rock solid. Of course.

I tried the Jammaboards extenders and they were pieces of shit.

I finally hardwired a bunch more 5v lines across the extender. Lo and behold it's working now. Must remember that the Neo Geo needs at least 4.5v from now on.

Glad you got it working and I like the idea that there is more than one set of wires (+5) going to the pcb.

At 4.5v it will eventually reboot the game or create issues.

You should get a real arcade PSU that you can adjust the 5v rail.

I probably will.

Been using PC psus and they've been pretty solid. Problem is in this case I'm running a meter of wire between the power and the board.
