well picked up a darkstalkers cps2 set the other day to play in my jamma cab
i already had the cab wired for my cps1 sf2 ww board but the kick harness is diffrent and my board did not come with a cps2 kick harnes
i posted a want add in the wanted secton and have gotten no hits so today i busted out the old parts box and got to work
first i took an old pc floppy drive cable filed down the edges so it would fit into the cps2 socket and bam now i hd my harness lol
then came the hard part of finding wich wires were the kick input ones (nice of the darkstakers manual not to list the pinout but only tell you what color wires are used )
20 mins later i had the 6 wires needed
then since my game was already wired with the cps1 kick harness and i didnt have any molex connectors to make a break away harness i did this
found an old snk elu pcb that was bad that i had lying around that had a header pin that would work ,busted out the old desoldering iron , removed the header pin and solderd it up to my getto harness
lol
here it is all hooked up
not pretty but 25 mins of time and no cost involved (well like 1 cent worth of solder lol) and now im able to play my new darkstalkers board = well worth it in my book lol
i still need to get out my hot glue gun and hit the exposed wire at the header pin
and then reinforce the floppy cable since i had to remove the cable lock on it to make it fit in the cps2 board
hey getto but it works lol
