well picked up a darkstalkers cps2 set the other day to play in my jamma cab
i already had the cab wired for my cps1 sf2 ww board but the kick harness is diffrent and my board did not come with a cps2 kick harnes
i posted a want add in the wanted secton and have gotten no hits so today i busted out the old parts box and got to work

first i took an old pc floppy drive cable filed down the edges so it would fit into the cps2 socket and bam now i hd my harness lol

then came the hard part of finding wich wires were the kick input ones (nice of the darkstakers manual not to list the pinout but only tell you what color wires are used )
20 mins later i had the 6 wires needed

then since my game was already wired with the cps1 kick harness and i didnt have any molex connectors to make a break away harness i did this

found an old snk elu pcb that was bad that i had lying around that had a header pin that would work ,busted out the old desoldering iron , removed the header pin and solderd it up to my getto harness

lol

here it is all hooked up

not pretty but 25 mins of time and no cost involved (well like 1 cent worth of solder lol) and now im able to play my new darkstalkers board = well worth it in my book lol

i still need to get out my hot glue gun and hit the exposed wire at the header pin
and then reinforce the floppy cable since i had to remove the cable lock on it to make it fit in the cps2 board

hey getto but it works lol

lol thanks
oh well im bored today any way
no cash and my parts that are on order didnt show up on time
and the guy that was sposed to come by for his multi was a no show
so it at least gave me somthing to do lol
ill probaly try and repair the plastic shroud on my starship 1 today also since i do at least have a tub of bondo here lol

ha nice lol

now i just need to grab a few more cps2 fighters as i pretty much have all the good neo geo fighters might as well complete the colection
and no one reccomend the mortal kombat games i hate them sooooooo much they were fun games when they came out but the mechanics of the fighting is just to choppy compared to the great neogeo and capcom fighters

Much as I like the MK series, I'm totally with you on that one. Relative to the Capcom fighters it's pretty chunky movement-wise. Great job on the adapter, it's on the inside of the cab so it ain't gotta be pretty, it's just gotta get the job done, which it seems it has. :) Speaking of, interesting cab conversion, I'd not have thought of putting a fighter into a DHA, but I gotta admit, it looks pretty cool.

Marvel vs Capcom is the best one to grab.. I have Xmen COTA and SF vs XMEN for sale if you're interested.

yea i have always wanted a candy cab but never found one priced right so i ended up snagging the die hard super cheap and since die hard is a good game but has little replay value i decided to make the cab my horz jamma rig and i have to say it rocks (actually better than a candy cause you dont have to kneel to play it lol )

its also nice cause i installed one of thes adjustable jamma board mounts and its attached to the back door that is hinged so i just open the back door undo the jamma holder and pop in another game (down side to that is some boards like the cps2 boards are 2 big so i cant shut the door but meh dosent really matter the way i have the game room setup )

it was kinda a pain in the ass when doing the kick harnes tho plug in a wire squeeze out around to the fron of the machine press a button and see if it did somthing then repeat lol

today i went thrue all my games and got all the lights working excpt the die hard so ill be doing it tommorow
