I really enjoy doing all the cosmetic stuff to games and getting them back to original looks as close as I can but the thing I dred the most is all the wiring inside. Im working on a Ms. Pac cabaret right now and just want to rip out all the guts, clean it up, and start over with new wiring. I see 20 yrs of dirt and grime on all the wires and transformers and I wonder how im ever going to clean it up. I have a few routes to go and I want to see what yall would do.

1. Do I gut it and clean up all the wires (and with what) and just put it all back in after being cleaned.

2. Gut it and get a new wiring harness for the game so it looks all nice and new like the outside will.

3 Gut it and put in Jamma wiring with a power supply and just use jamma to Pac connecter.

4. Insert your idea here that I may not be thinking of.

I have to admit I kinda want to go the jamma route cause the little bit of wiring ive done in cabs was with jamma and it was fairly easy for me to follow and plus Bob has good easy to follow steps on his site that would help me. Just trying to get an idea of what yall do when you are in this situation of a restore.

If the wiring isn't all hacked up and brittle, pull it all out of the cabinet and throw it in the sink with some good cleaner. blow dry it, leave it in front of a fan or out in the sun for a couple days. This methods worked just fine for the last hundred games i've restored. You'll have to hand clean the transformer assembly of course but the rest just goes in the sink.

There are a few spots in there that are hacked up but thats cause they put in the wrong monitor and just spliced some of the wiring together. I just dread having to go in there and follow some of that wiring to figure out where its suppose to go. Im sure if it were clean it would make it a little easier.

My personal opinion is I'd just leave it. The wires dont' have to be perfectly clean. If they're hooked up where they need to be and you don't like messing with wires.......... ........... ........... dont' mess with the wires.
