Hi,
I'm wondering if someone has seen this problem before and can lend some advice. Just got a High Speed machine and I can't seem to access the system diagnosics. Well I shouldn't say I can't, but when I open the coin door and hit the advance button the machine jumps right to the "music test". As far as I can tell from the manual this would mean the auto up / manual down button is in the down position, but this test comes up no matter which position I have that button in. I can't get any further past the music test no matter what buttons I hit. The only way for me to make the music stop is to turn the machine off. I've checked the wires back all the way back to 1J14 on the CPU and reseated the connectors but still no luck. I've also checked and the coin door is grounded as well. I'm hoping that this is just a problem with the 3 button switch, but I'm not sure. At start up I was getting an adj switch 37 error, but I replaced the left eos switch and that error is no longer coming up. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks. mike

Just for the heck of it, shut the power off and remove the batteries from the MPU board for about a minute.

Check the batteries to see if they are good while you have them out. Now if they are good and clean, put them back in and turn the power on-off-on. Machine should boot up. Now try the test switches.

You could also unplug that connector that goes to the test switches, then turn it on to see if it still goes to Music Test. If not, then your test switch(es) are most likely the cause. Not too uncommon to have problems with one or more...

Thanks Ken... Sure enough took the batteries out, put them back in, powered on/off/on, and the service buttons now work.
