when someone says Arcade, what do you think of?
And what do you think of Candy Cabs? hate em/like em?
I personally can´t stand them (Candy Cabs) white plastic, ugly CP, all the same! yuck!

I think of the classics... I've never once sat down at a candy cab. That said, I'd LOVE to have one... just one.

The word "arcade" to mean means a coin op entertainment machine. I include EMs, pins, vids, and redemption machines.

As for candy cabs, I don't care for the look of them but they were always being played at the Seattle show this year. I rarely argue with results...

i can't stand 'em. i prefer original cabs, but honestly don't see why people prefer those? they're big, white, and lack art on the cab...

I prefer original cabs as well but the Candys are fun for JAMMA games and, at least with my Konami Windy cabinet, the monitor is rotatable, so you can run vert and horiz games in it. My 4yr old likes it too, since it's her height and the 29" monitor is HUGE, especially to her.

Don't really care for the candy cabs. If I wanted a washing maching with a tv in it, I would make one myself. They are UUUUGLY!

Big monitor is cool though.....

an arcade game is an arcade game classic, new ,plastic, wood they all bring back some sort of fond memories of someons child hood
that said i really want a candy cab bad for the fact that you do not see them here in the us to often since they were mainly built and distruibted in japan and would be a great addition to anyones arcade collection

i even like my sega stv cab

overall they are good for the newer jamma games..... or in my case i have my XXXX in 1 in it. sittin down to play a game on a 29" monitor is pretty cool.

To me, the word "arcade" is a building in which coin op games are found.

That said, I think of classic arcade games.

I like the American style wood cabs and never thought I would want a Candy, until I saw a couple and played on them.

I am mostly a JAMMA fighter guy, so I would like to get a couple of candy cabs. Most of the games I would use on it were only sold as kits anyway so it doesn't really matter to me.

I wouldn't mind one. I played the ones at the Seattle show just a bit (more so it was my family playing them) and they were cool. Some of the japanese games seem to be pretty fun, so getting a candy cab and a handful of newer japanese jamma boards would be a nice addition to the game room.

Many of them are dedicated....

Especially the Neo-Geo and Sega Ones. Well, about as dedicated as a Universal, Gremlin or Nintendo Cocktail.

I like being able to sit down personally. And the Big monitor that can be rotated... And the accessibility/room is great for storing other motherboards.

The sticks/buttons? They leave something to be desired.

I mostly don't like that my Neo-29 won't take anything bigger than a 100Y piece. No quarters.

I like 'em, some of the designs have a lot of personality, while others are just generic shells built to hold a game. Pretty much how things are with woodys, too.

For a gallery of different cab designs, be sure to check out hard--candy.

candy cabs rock if you get the right ones...The ones I like are the Egret2, Sega astrocitys (new and astro2) and the capcom impress.
