Candy Cab Suggestions

Question for monitor I want to open up my back and blow it the dust it's the last thing I have to do before I go in and plug all my wiring back up what is this degaussing the monitor thing is there a tool I can buy at Home Depot or something lol I need to go there anyway to buy some screws and bolts

I have a small compressor I bought for cheap at Harbor Freight. Beats canned air all day.

But I hose down my monitors to clean them. :)

As for the degaussing tool. Check eBay. You can pick one up there without breaking the bank.

Frys in San marcos had one in stock when I was there last week. I think you're closer to the one on aero drive, they might have one too. Frys in sm is where I got my degaussing coil. It works great.

So I'll say hooking up a cps2 all 6 buttons work with the kick harness, I was just trying to see if I could get the buttons to work with the Pandora 4 but no luck smh

What's plugged in at the board? What's connected at the connectors?. Use a multimeter set to continuity test and put one lead at button connector and one lead at the appropriate pin at the kick harness connector. If you get continuity then check your buttons and check your board. Try known good buttons and board. If you don't get continuity then start testing from one end to the other keeping one lead at say the button end and working your way toward the board end.

So this wiring is right but only is wired for 5 and goes into CN5 which is wired right as well and wired for 5

Now when it comes to the CN10 I have no clue what wires supposed to go in what as I don't see any pictures showing what wires is supposed to go into what slot and that is where the extra button loom is going to at the control panel

And that leads up to my extra button kick loom that connects to my buttons because there wasn't one when I got it, and it works for the cps2 which is great because that's my main use. Pandora is just for my kids to play because it has a lot more games to play.

I found a jamma adapter for the pandora 4 that you can use a cps2 kick harness

For anyone who owns a candy cab is the dimensions the same for a wood board to slide in the cabinet for a blast city and other candy cabs? If so would anyone happen to know the dimensions I would like to mount my A board to something so I can stop just laying it on its side in the cab lol

I know that the board in my Egret 29 and my Net City are different sizes.

but that's across different manufacturers and different arcade generations.

These Candy cabs are great, with big screens. I'm actively looking for one, actually (Preferably an Astro or a New Astro) but had no luck so far (I'm in texas) And the prices I could see here and there (up to $1500 + shipping) really discouraged me...
Enjoy your cabs, dudes !

There was a candy in Texas on ebay a couple months back. I forget the exact model, but it looked really nice, and I believe the seller was asking $1000. Point is, be patient. They are out there. It seems like an opportunity will never present itself when you're waiting and waiting and waiting, and then BOOM something comes around.

Patience AND diligence... waiting is one thing but you'll miss the opportunities that do pop up unless you're paying attention.

Craigslist and eBay allow you to get email alerts for new search items. Make use of this and don't be afraid to setup several saved searches with different keywords. On eBay you can narrow you search to listings within a certain distance of you. I've found several LOCAL machines this way. People are also more inclined to make a better deal off-line if they wont have to deal with shipping and eBay/Paypal fees.

Also post up WTB in the forums you frequent. making sure people in the community know what you're looking for is a good way to get the deals to come to you. bump these threads at least once a month so people know you're still looking.

Along with that find someone in your region that owns one or more of the cab you're looking for and ask if they can let you know if one comes up for sale. People who own cabs like this also generally have their pulse on the local market and know other collectors, so when that great deal comes up you want them to think of you and pass it along.
