Any clue who fixes candy cab monitors? I have a Super Neo 29 with a dual res Hitachi that is dead. I pulled the chassis tonight, but have no clue where to send it to fix. (I actually pulled it to replace with a Jen Shen chassis I bought, but the connectors aren't the same from the yoke)

I get tons of requests to fix those and every couple of months or so someone will send me one for repair. I have to reject them because I don't have an original tube to bench them!. So when someone has one for sale or a yoke from a bum tube let me know so I can start repairing these!.

wait a second, is this the nanao chassis / monitor or toei?.. if its the TC-RM251S or TC-RM29J then I would be able to help as I repair those models.. i have a white steel candy cab with that monitor.

Joey is one of the best. Just be prepared to spend ~ $75 to ship it one way.

I ain't shipping it to Australia. I'll have to see if I can find a model number on it, but I'm not sure there is one. I do know it's a Hitachi tube, and the chassis is dual res by changing the connectors around.

ya my candy cab with a toei also has a hitachi tube.. maybe post a pic of the chassis for solid ident..

Hi Chad
I have a cyberlead cabinet that has a Eizo tube and (I believe) a Toei 15/24 chassis. 2 questions for you if you dont mind.

Firstly, Does the chassis have a pin cushion adjustment? This cab is hard to get in to inspect the chassis so I figured you might have the answer before I started dis-assembling it.

Secondly, I am having some vertical fold over at the top inch of the display. I believe this can be fixed my replacing a cap on the neck card but I havent the slightest idea which. Is this correct that this would fix it and do you happen to know and/or have the correct cap that I would need? If you happen to have a full cap list and maybe even have them for sale that would be excellent too!

Thanks for any advice and sorry for hijacking your thread Raven.

yeah, sorry dude I'll post em tomorrow. I work in the game industry and hours are brutal when on project, been working 13 hour days this past week-- this monitor has been the farthest thing from my mind but I can mess with it this weekend and remove the back access panel to get in there to get some pics. Thanks for the help.

So here's my chassis. No label on it that I can find. I may have found the problem though.......neckboard is cracked. No clue how that could even happen with the way these things a put together and mounted. Also, the anode cap tore when I removed it. I think I might be better off just trying to hack in the replacement chassis I bought, unless this can be fixed for a reasonable price.

its looks toei'ish.. similar to my toei in my candy cab but not it.

wish I could be more of help.. if you're not getting any kind of crackle noise on monitor fire then you could have multiple problems.. the crack in the neckboard shouldn't cause a high voltage from starting or deflection scan.

Hitachi GMK-29

caps in the power supply section are notoriously failure prone.

looks like you're missing the remote board.

Nope, I just left the remote board in the cab.

Thanks for the info on the model! Now who fixes them........
