Where is a good place to find them for sale? i see a few on ebay but id like a 6 button (capcom fighting game style) arcade for a mame comversion. anyone have any hidden sources or should i just keep an eye out on ebay?

This point in time I only reccomend Matsu for Candies. He does a basic restoration and cherry picks the cabs from JP. He costs a little more but its all worth it as the cab comes 100% ready to go and no BS.

I purchased a Egret II from him a few months back.

I paid $600 shipped to Texas for a New Astro City.
Great cab and price in my opinion.

those looks really cool too and that's about the maximum of my price range i was hoping to be able to stay under 700 after shipping. does the astro city cabs come with a 6 button per player control panel?

My come with a 3 button per player panel but Avid can send it with 6 if you want.

Be aware of this thread -- read through it all.. be careful of jumping on "deals".

I was gonna toss that out there as Kingsley / Avidgeek was part of working that buy. The one positive side as my friend ElectricGrave from NG forums bought 2 NACs in that buy and one came with a broken shroud due to packing, Kingsley sent him replacement parts.

We completely disassembled the first cab, scrubbed the crap out of it and repainted. Now it looks great.

I was part of that buy too, but ended up getting a refund instead of cabs. Thank god I was part of the big VA group order, as I was getting 4 of them.

We are actually going to be getting Astro City cabs from Ken at the Gameroom. Apparently he has over 40 Astro City's in stock, so you may want to contact him. He quoted us at $450 before shipping, but were buying a few and having them shipped to the same place, so not sure if that is a discounted price or not.

Yup me as well. I got my refund too. It was a shitty situation but Kazuo over at NG took care of us in the end. That was a complex situation that I doubt we will ever know exactly what happened.

That is awesome looking! How much? I would love to have an Egret II.

I paid a total of $1350 shipped from SoCal to Boston. Was completely worth the money, period. Everything was 100% cleaned, full non hacked harnesses, 110v transformer. All I had to do was plug it in. The carrier he used NVL of course did a great job and nothing was touched or rubbed. Matsu was quick to respond to questions, gave me pictures of the actual cab inside and out and game running. Also threw in an extra harness for the 2P8B panel I had prior.

A friend of mine purchased a Neo29 from Matsu before he started using NVL. The cab was completely destroyed in shipment and he was fully refunded within a week as Matsu took care of all the claims.

Matsu has sold New Astros as well. I believe they were going for $750 at the time before shipping.

i purchased my new astro city cab from matsu. awesome dude. i've never heard anybody have a bad deal with him and he's sold an assload of cabinets over the years.
