Canada Shipping? Brokerage Fees? Anyone have a good shipper?

I'm trying to get a machine from Alberta Canada to Nashville, TN and NAVA apparently can't do it unless I get a broker. UPS as a broker gives me 5 freaking numbers and the run around so I still don't have a quote on that but NAVA can't act as their own broker and they are trying to charge almost $550 to ship one thing.

My question is, does ANYONE have some type of better method to ship a cabinet into the US from Canada at a decent price? I am afraid this is going to cost a ton of money that I was not aware of.

I just went through this last week, actually. I used a broker out of Florida, and it cost about $120 for the service. Unfortunately, I don't have the name of the broker as the seller of the machine put it on his account and I paid him.

I had this same issue a few months ago with my Timber and Tapper. I had them both shipped from Canada on 1 pallet for about $500.00. I used freightquote.com and they referred me to a broker that they use. They arranged everything and the shipper was actually UPS. NAVL quoted me over $1300.00.

I will get the contact info for you.

I was pulling my hair out trying to figure how to ship those damn games for months. After I got in touch with Peter the process was smooth. Peter is very helpful. Let me now if you decide to use them and how it turns out. Good luck!

Pinheads here I know, tend to pick up and drop off just over the border to avoid all this hassle.

Close enough to the border in Alberta that tossing the seller some cash they could do this? Get it to a pickup point for the shipper?

groffdaddy: Thank you, I will look into that. Right now it's $725 with brokerage just to SHIP a Crossbow.

Cinder: He's in Calgary but honestly, it's a lot of trouble to have to do that, might as well sell local unless I pay him more money and get a truck but I am sure he has a busy schedule and stuff. It's always a mission for me to borrow a truck. I really to get one of those one day, LOL
