So for any of you who missed the auction in BC today it was an interesting and eye opening experience. If I had known before hand what was going to happen I would have loaded up my entire arcade, and everyone elses that I could convince... and made a beeline for the border

Slightly crowded but with only 80 or so items and a small space it wasn't bad. First lot to go was some parts and that quickly sold at $10… Things went downhill from there.

Triple Action Pinball $600 (fair shape)
Adams Family Pin (needing serious work including all flippers, playfield surface was discolored and crazed where magnet stuck on. $3100
Meteor Pin $700 (no wear but bad crazing)
Ms Pac (cabinet solid but fairly faded artwork, monitor needed a cap kit and other work) $1100
Mario Brothers (red cab, no side art, monitor needed work) $1200
Arkanoid (bad shape) $700

Weird redemption game called Goofy Hoops.. .This one is for Dave as he has one in his garage… Really nice cabinet on this one. Everything there…. But a crack in the DMD and the machine wouldn't turn on… I was hoping for a cheap sale as it was the only game that didn't power up…. $350…. Sheesh what were these people thinking.

I stopped writing prices after that. There were a few ok deals… remember the parts…… like one.

Sit down drivers were fetching $1000 - $1300 each.

Now remember all these prices are before the auction fees and tax.

So that $3100 adams Family…. After fees $4000… and I would guess it needs at least a grand of repair.

It was scary.

Well that sucks. If I could get that much per machine I would consider selling everything and starting over. At least this time it pays to not have the proper papers to go to Canada. - Barry

Yup...

I had a good time with friends...

Found a really good new food...

Poutine.... Worth the try

That's the prices in canada :(

Not really...

I have been to a few auctions up there. One of the last large ones they were giving away cabs at the end cause nobody would bid. Same auction someone got a $5 battlezone that only needed the boards plugged in and it worked (mint) $5 zookeeper cab... etc

Any idea what the blue dedicated SFII CE cabinet sold for?

I do agree that the prices on cabinets here in Canada are outrageous, sometimes you do find good deals as mentioned. I've been to a couple of Starburst Coin's auctions where Showcase cabinets have sold for $125 and some driving games for $225. Just a matter of timing I think.

I'm curious as well...as that was the only thing that caught my eye in the pictures.

I stopped caring around that point but if memory serves me correct it was somewhere in the 700-800 range

Funny, there was an auction here in Colorado yesterday as well, and I found the exact same thing. I even mentioned to a fellow collector that we should have just brought our games and sold them for 2-3 times what they were worth. We probably would have gotten it too.

Maybe the reason these auctions are finishing so high is that arcade games as a whole are going up in popularity and/or value. Good for those of us who already have a few games.
