I was finally playing GORF after many days of working with my board...
Then smelly monitor and poof....I got nothing. Looked inside and on the base of the cabinet was a little metal / lead looking part. Not sure what its for or if it caused my failure.

What do you think?

G07

Yeah its a G07 and it looks like it is the flyback (I didn't know the name)
Looks like this white part has a crack in it and the ceramic part popped off and fell to the bottom of the cab.

Also pictures attached of my monitor...

I have someone that can do cap kits. Didn't know if this was something that normally comes with a kit and if it's an expensive part????

I'm so sick of my GORF I almost want to turn it into a computer with an LCD screen...yeah that tired of it. ugh...

crap I realized this should have really gone into Monitor help. I forgot there was a different forum area for that! Ughs....

Your flyback exploded. Scary, huh? Sometimes they break clean in half.

To fix a G07 you need

a capkit
a flyback
a fuse (yours just shorted out when the flyback exploded)

You MAY need a HOT (horizontal output transistor) too, but not usually. Put a new fuse in, put the capkit in, put the flyback in and your monitor will work, probably, for as long as you own the machine.

I would pull the HOT and test it for shorts before ordering those parts. It would be a pain if you put all those parts in and then realised you needed to order a HOT.

Never seen one completely break off the chassis like that, nice one

*pop*CRACK*

Does your house still stink? When my missile commands g07 blew it stunk up the room pretty bad and lasted a couple days

In case you care i think its a piece of ferrite (unmagnetic fridge magnet matl) not ceramic
