Can you still name the lineup from your childhood arcade?

The local Aladdin's castle had an ever rotating selection of games. I love the thrill of arriving to the arcade and seeing what new game had landed. Also cool when classics rotated back in. Merlin's castle and galactican also worked like this. All I can tell you is that it was a thrill to discover tempest, major havoc, Mario brothers, punch out, rolling thunder, Firefox (the games that really stood out) to me) and of course dragons lair for the first time. Afixed lineup is more of a modern thing but I'm not complaining cuz it's great to still find arcades in 2025.

my high school had open campus and across the street was a roller rink that we kids would eat personal pizzas and fried burritos at, so in 9th grade the setup there was from far right, Spy Hunter, Dig Dug, Yie ar Kung-fu, Track and Feild and Pac Man.

Same, similar line-up, too!! We could leave high school for lunch, and there was a pizza/ice cream place just a few minutes walk away. There were about 6-8 of us that would walk down there every day. You could get a slice and a pop for $1.25, knowing that you would put the other 3 quarters into the games. Very small space, only about 10 vids. Remote town with about 1,000 people, and games did not get changed out very often. The ones I remember the best they had are:

Spy Hunter
Yie Ar Kung-Fu
Double Dragon
Time Pilot
Rush'n Attack
Ms. Pac

Had a Dragon's Lair for a short time, maybe only a few months.

where I lived back then you'd find a lot of stores had 1-2 games in the front or a designated area. Sometimes more.

There was a Donkey Kong at an ice cream shop (I think) by my house and next door there was a pizza place that had space for three games. The best lineup they had there that I remember was Robotron, Mr. Do!, and DK Jr. I'd walk all the way down there with 1 quarter to play something as much as I could.

A couple years later I remember there being a Peter Packrat at the Tanforan mall with some other games. I'd play PP a lot. There was a bowling alley at the Westlake shopping center where I remember playing Commando and Gyruss.

Going to a full on arcade wasn't something I experienced regularly until the mid to late eighties at a movie theater arcade that was good sized. They regularly changed games and this was my favorite place to go for 2-3 years as a young teen. Some of my favorites during this era were Double Dragon, Cyberball, an X-Men 6 player, aand a deluxe After Burner that they replaced with a deluxe Galaxy Force at some
point which was amazing.

Lots of great memories.

My local arcades (couple miles - bike riding distance for us paperboys) were Flipper McCoys and just a few hundred feet away, a Putt Putt Golf and Games. Too many games to remember them all, but I do recall where every game was that I played regularly in both of those places. I didn't know at the time that conversions was a thing, so in hindsight I know now that the Tag Team Wrestling I used to play allot became the Ring King that I also loved. The Paperboy became the Super Sprint, etc...
There was also a 7-11 at the end of my street which had a small dedicated game room and constantly rotated games for my whole childhood. Ms Pacman, Galaga, Centipede, Pole Position, Dig Dug, Dragon's Layer, several pins. Also made regular trips to Chuck E Cheese, Showbiz Pizza, Alladins, in our city during my teens years. Then there was the occasional game in weird places, like a Defender and later a Joust at the neighborhood grocery, a Tron at the Bamboo Hut Chinese Take out, and a 720 at the Pizza Take Out. Those last two stayed years after the games had lost their audience.

In the summers when in North Carolina, my mom would drag my brother and I to some discount clothing store for back to school clothes, in the lobby was a Marble madness and spy hunter, used to play both

Chuck E Cheese line up in Winter Park, Florida ... Mouse Trap, Qix, Make Trax, Eagle, Kangaroo, Pac Man, Ms. Pac Man , Donkey Kong, then they added Dragon's Lair their was a bunch of other machines but those are the ones I clearly remember in the line up

Not a chance.

I do remember it was the place where I decided that one of these days, I was going to own an Asteroids Deluxe and a Tempest.
