Can you identify this filthy flyback?

I think there's atleast 2 around here, i'll call them tomorrow and see if i can get some for you or atleast get you in contact with them :D

Thanks. The only ones here in town are out of business. Three big major retailers take all the business, and they ship their stuff out. :(

i can't promise anything but i will call atleast 1 tomorrow during business hours.

I just saw this on adjusting monitor convergence:

If the center of the screen is properly converged but there is still
misconvergence at the screen edges, you must tilt the -front- of the yoke
up or down (without loosening the mounting clamp), or side to side for
compensation while observing a crosshatch pattern on the screen. Note that
up/down movement of the yoke will affect convergence at the screen left and
right sides, and side to side movement of the yoke will affect screen edge
convergence at the top and bottom of the screen. Smaller tubes don't
normally require adjustment, but larger screen sizes can show quite a bit
of misconvergence at the edges. When adjustment is optimised, small rubber
or plastic wedges are used to hold the yoke in place. Sometimes these
blocks fall out. If edge convergence is bad and center convergence is OK,
look for loose or missing blocks. They are fitted with double-sided tape or
glue to keep them in position between the yoke and the bell of the tube so
the yoke can't move. Silicon rubber sealer works well as glue.

Since i have issues on the edges equally, I wonder if this would fix the issue? May have to go mess around with it and see what goes on.

I tried contacting greg, hadn't heard back from him. As for TV repair shops, I'll be damned if I can name one in town. :(

somebody in this effing town has to have those...

those options that cadillacman listed might be better options than getting them from NY. but i'll still call around if you want.

Convergence or no convergence, you still need to replace that flyback. Those white knob K7000 flybacks suck - you'll probably have problems focusing the picture with that. Don't try to get too serious converging a monitor if you can't get good focus over the whole screen. It makes fine tuning so much harder.

Also, for those little convergence strips, I've never had to buy any - I usually just scavenge them from junk monitors and TV's. You'll find them a lot more often in larger computer monitors than in TV's though. Cheap TV sets were rarely perfectly converged in the first place.

Yeah, I already ordered the flyback. Should be here shortly. The middle 85% of the monitor really looks awesome, so hopefully the strips I got (from wells gardner) will help. From the video I posted, it sure seems like it would do the trick.

How much did the strips run you? did you contact WG directly? (just incase i or someone else wants them someday :D )

Well, I'll be totally honest with you. They didn't cost me a thing.

I spoke to a lady there yesterday over the phone (after a little phone tag here and there), and she said there was a minimum order of 30 dollars. I said "well, that's fine", but she told me they were like 67 cents a piece, and then asked how many did I need? I said only about 8 or so.

She had some in her desk (9 to be exact), and just said she'd mail those to me. I didn't have to pay for them, she just gave them to me! Then, when she said she'd mail them, I said "well, can I at least pay for shipping?!", she just said "no, that's okay, I'll just mail them today."

So, they cost me nothing. :) I was ready to order 60 of the damn things to satisfy the minimum order, but she didn't want to make me have to buy so many extra, and just gave me all the ones she had in her desk. Pretty sweet.

But 67 cents each is what she said. So if anyone wants to buy a lot of them, that's what you will be looking to spend.
