I know, I know..I'm sure there's going to be some haters out there if I do this, but my wife is determined to have some non-white/black rings and frankly, I don't think it's a horrible idea..

So the question is, if you were going to dye a rubber pinball ring....what the hell do you dye it with? I want to make sure if I try something nutso that it's not going to rub off on the ball and then taint the playfield....but this is kinda my last stop on this train. She requested green rings and I can't find them anywhere, lol. :)

Don;t even bother wasting your time.
Call up Illinois Pinball and order colored rubbers.

Ill check that out. Didnt figure they would have the capability to do that since theres not much on their site.

Speaking of Illinois Pinball (I think I remember seeing some colored rubbers at their booth at the last TPF) - what is up with that web site? I often wonder how much money they DON'T make by having a crappy website that's out-of-date, and doesn't list the vast majority of products they have in stock...

Sometimes you get a response when you contact them through the site, and sometimes you get crickets...

Is it because he doesn't really want to sell directly, and prefers to sell to distributors?

If you're going to come to the ArcadeExpo next weekend here in Houston I'm almost certain they're going to be there so that may save you shipping costs.

Just like pinball glass, no, I won't be making a 5 hour drive just to get some rubber.

That's why I said, "If you're going to come".

Get some Rit Dye. It should work good for this. You can pretty much buy it at any fabric store or probably Walmart.
