Hey folks,

Alas, I missed out on ordering one of the multigame CPs for my SD/Zektor cab.. But I have the next best thing; a spare SD control panel.

I dont have the means to punch the holes for the spinner or joysticks though (or the 2 small buttons near the top)

Would anyone be able to help me out? Obviously besides shipping I'm happy to pay a reasonable fee for the effort.

Tx,
Mike

you know you can get one of those hole saw drill bits from lowes and put it on the end of a corded drill and do it yourself.

It's a 1 1/8 bit.

I'm surprised that hole-saw bit can chomp through a cp. I had a drill some mounting holes for a new joystick on a mame cabinet and even that was a nightmare.

I'll check it out though. I have a drill press so if the bit can stand up to the metal I should be able to get a clean result.

Problem is you end up paying possibly more for the bits than what the CP costs in the first place and only use them maybe once or twice?

That being said, they do work. I did my panel by hand, so you should have no problem with a drill press. Just make sure to use lubricant and a low-middle speed.

hole punch not hole saw... buy 1 1/8. It can be had on ebay for less than $20. If your cutting a CP with an applied overlay, blade part on overlay side..

I have drilled through thicker steel with my hole saw, mine has a carbide blade. You will want to use a drill press though, I can't imagine the mess I would have made with a hand drill! Punch if you can find one.

If your punch isn't sharp sometime you end up with a cp with a little bend in it. A little oil before and after will keep it sharper for a longer time.

if your using a bi metal hole saw if the hole saw is worn. It would tend to wander a bit on you. Putting a support peice of wood under the CP will stop it from wandering off mark.

Well this was pretty easy, and didn't take that long. I guess for people who are drilling a lot of holes, this probably isn't the best method- but I don't use it a whole lot. I don't know, maybe I've cut half a dozen holes with it.
