I bought a new Transformer today and it has no markings like the old one does to tell where each wire goes. The old transformer is on the left and the wiring orientation that you see has to be duplicated onto the brand new transformer in the two pics on the right. I need to know where these wires are supposed to go onto the new transformer. the new one came with no paperwork so I am stumped, all I see for designation is secondary, and primary. Thank you.

If you're using this as an isolation transformer, then get out your meter and do continuity testing between the lugs. You'll most likely fine you have continuity between the top two lugs (Secondary) and the bottom two lugs (Primary), but not between any of the top and bottom.

If that is correct, then assuming it is a 1:1 transformer, you can connect your 120vac in to either the bottom lugs (Primary), and then have 120vac out on the top two lugs (Secondary) for your monitor power.

If you aren't sure whether it is 1:1, connect your 120vac to one set of lugs, then measure the voltage between the other set. If you get the same voltage, then it is 1:1. If not, then it is either a step-up or step-down transformer...

Okay another label on top says secondary is the top two prongs, so primary is the bottom I assume. Youys have to excuse me for being a transformer Noob. So my 115v wires go on top and the OV on the bottom two?

does the marquee light come on? can you hear the game playing ?

is the on/off switch on the top of the cab in the on position?

is the white safety switch activated by the rear door installed pulled out all the way?

test the fuse with a multimeter set on sound detection, dont just look at it to see if its good.

make sure you have a 3 prong plug on the cord, and you have the proper voltage at the wall outlet.

got me one of those cheapass AC checkers from home depot that the tip lights up in the presence of AC. then i can follow the wires with the lit up checker and see where the AC stops.

A fellow Klov'r and I did a different switcher with a direct AC plug and the game played blind with no monitor so we assumed the transformer was shot so I got this new one. I also have a feeling that the switcher is wired wrong but I ave no wiring diagram to cross refference from and the manual is no help. I need a wire color coded diagram. Without the direct wiring the game does nothing at all. I have no white safety switch. I have two black ones for coin door, and rear door, and a main switch on top. All three were definately turned on.

No ! the label is on top and the secondary is the top two prongs and the primary is the bottom.

The label is on the side (and one on top). You will notice that the new one has screw tabs/holes for mounting it. Set it down with these tabs down --consider this the bottom.

Now, your AC IN will be the bottom two lugs or the ones nearer the outside (by the mounting tabs), and your AC OUT will be the top two or the ones that are recessed inward just a bit.

Ya know, way back in the 3rd post of this thread I explained exactly how to hook it up for monitor power. it has since been explained again several times. If you are hooking it up like we explain and still have a dead monitor, then it is likely that your monitor doesn't work...

I understood that long ago but it still does'nt explain why nothing else has power.

You said the game powered up and played, but the monitor didn't work.

This would imply that you either need a new switcher, or have the AC power connected to it wrong. Most switchers are labeled where the AC goes in, and you can measure there to see if it present. If you have AC in and no DC out, then the switcher is bad.

So, get a switcher in there that powers up so you can hear the game play blind again, then see if you have power to the monitor, then fix your monitor (or power to it) as needed...
