I'm looking at this cabinet for sale, and was wondering what type it is, and what your guys input would be on this? You guys are more seasoned at this than I am, what would you do, pay etc. All opinions wanted.

1. The cabinet has no back door parts
2. includes a working X-MEN: Children of the Atom PCB and such.
3. Buttons are missing
4. Monitor doesn't work

Does look like a heavy restore project. But I'm thinking the PCB would almost pay for the whole thing if I sold it?

THANKS! :D

Yeah id grab it, I really dont see a lot of work there.

Making back doors is easy, buying buttons is easy, and you get the monitor rebuilt.

That B board isn"t super valuable, so don't put too much faith in recouping your cost that way. Also he says that he tested the B board in a different machine, but not the A board. It is super easy to pull the A board and plug it into any other setup that has a CPS2 A board already in it. So, he either didn't test the B board at all, or he tested both and the A board didn't work.

I would not put any stock in what this guy is selling. You could do a lot better.

EDIT: Also, I'm not sure, but I think maybe that is a Dynamo cab.

I really appreciate your input guys.

I went and took a look at it today. For the most part it was all dusty and dirty and will take some bit of work. I looked on the back and it's a Data East cabinet. It had the label on the top part, but didn't have a game label.

The person who was selling it wasn't there at the shop, and the person who showed me the cab had no knowledge whatsoever. After seeing it in person, a $100 I think it's a bit too much, if it doesn't win the auction bid. (Which I think it won't) I will offer him $50 for the cab with or without the game. It's going to cost some money to get that thing decent.

@Adamdiz: I hope I can haggle him down a bit more. I just want the machine and don't even care about the PCB. If I can get it for $50 I could use $50 restoring it really well.

@kilgers: I was also thinking the same thing about the PCB. I could prolly sell it to someone on the European boards that may be after CPS-II games. They are pretty popular there.

It sucked because I couldn't even ask the guy to power it on to see if the machine innards even worked. It's known that the monitor prolly needs anything from a small fix to a rebuild.
The PSU or the Jamma harness could be shot. I will ask more questions and shoot an offer depending on the answer he gives me if the thing doesn't sell on e-bay.
Other than that I will look else where.
