i have a dedicated ss2. the monitor is starting to bleed colors and go out badly. i want to throw an lcd in it instead (since its not a light gun game). tired of heavy monitors..
is there a dip switch setting or?? to run it at vga?
the output from game board unit is actually a vga plug..
current monitor is 27 inch med res. vga splits wires into a normal rgb connector of course on monitor chassis.
thank you!

im honestly tired of pulling 100 pound monitors in and out of games.
19 inch is one thing, but when its 27 inches plus it gets old quick.
plus, monitors aren teasy to pull out of that cabinet. the glass bezel is hard to hold in place.
those monitors suck and dont run worth shhhh...even after repairs.
G07, 4600, 4900 amd 19" b/w vector are pretty much the only dependable monitors i have ever used in home or on location.

an lcd will do since not an actual light gun game.

so far i tried an lcd pc monitor direct and it works. no adapter card was needed so the output from the boards is either vga ready or the lcd connected freq range is low enough to accept the med res signal....
now, i have a 27 inch lcd coming to install with same range specs as the 19" test lcd.
will report back when complete.

That is what I thought

I thought it would work that is why I sent that link showing him doing it. Let us know how it looks. Pictures?

hi coinopjunkie
right now the gameroom is being painted so cant get to games. i should have it installed next week and will post results and get pix for certain.
thx much on this.

alrighty, installed the lcd last night and it worked.
the original monitor was a 27 inch in it as i first posted, its been so long i thought it was a 25 inch from memory...lol
anyhow, the lcd is a 26 inch acer and the frequeny dropped low enough capable of running med res i guess as it synced perfectly.
i just have to make a bezel now.
the game plays fine with the lcd. i was worried about gun barrel aiming, but it actually worked out well.
i am aware that its based on the position of the variable pots on the gun base itself, but i was speaking just from players viewing outside of the scope.

so, i will rebuild this wg k7500 and get rid of it when repaired.
i just dont like dealing with heavy, bulky, sucky tube monitors.

19" is fine to lift in and out, anything larger is not IMO.

on another note. ill be pulling 2 more monitors out of 2 rush 2049 and upgrading to lcd and sellign those. i forget what monitors they have in them now thow...for sale soon.

Bumping this because I'm running into a similar problem. Game runs fine with one of my smaller monitors, but everything else I try gives some type of signal error. So I'm guessing I will also need to run a converter? Standard GBS-8200?

We've got plenty of monitors to choose from. My problem is only one of them works directly from the VGA port in the game. All others give signal errors. So I guess even though the boardset has a VGA port I'll still need to use a converter?

I've come across quite a few LCD monitors over the past few years
that work with EGA signals.

I have a 27" over my bench which plays everything - Konami, Sega, etc.
