I have a Pinball ROM set and PPU, and I think that the PPU might be bad. Can I use the wrong PPU (known to be good) to check the ROMs? I know that they use different palletes, but will it work with funny colors or will it damage the board/roms/ppu?

Yes and no.

Some ROMS must have the right PPU or the game will not boot! Others (most) will display wrong colors.

For Pinball, you should be fine.

Thanks John, I have 2 Vs boards that came with the Red Tent I bought off Notrecaine, one has both sides with Wrecking Crew and the other has just Pinball on one side.

So far it seems that one of the Pinball ROMs is corrupted as I cleaned and reseated them. The game works in the WC board, but with glitched graphics. On the other board that I got it on the monitor has a wave in the picture and while the graphics are glitched just like on the other board, on this one the sound is crazy and the controls don't work.

So far, I think that the Vs board that the Pinball ROMs came on is bad. I also think that the ROMs need to be reburned, but I wanted to try another PPU just to make sure it isn't the Pinball PPU too.
