I picked up a old TV this weeked. On the front of the TV it said "19inch Color TV". On the back, "Manufactured 1990". So I thought cool a good tube. Made the buy and brought it home and opened it up. The tag on the tube says its a 20" tube not 19. and uses the socket CR-23. The monitor I want to replace is a WGk7000 med res. Its a CR-23 socket with 9 pin neck. The TV tube is a CR-23 socket with 10 pins. Can I swap the med res yoke onto the new tube and use it as a med res monitor?

Maybe, maybe not. Try it. As long as they're both CR23, the tube is electrically compatible. It won't blow anything up. The worst that'll happen is you won't be able to get it to converge. That, and you'll have to do some metal bending to mount the tube in the frame, since it's a little too big.
