My grail is a little more common than most. I got a few much appreciated leads from some forum members but they all lead to dead-ends. I even got a generous offer from a local member to copy his cabinet for a scratch build and another out-of-state member who offered a free cabinet but I could not make the 10 hour round trip drive.

However, I tracked down an inactive KLOV member with the game for sale and today my 25 year dream of owning a Track and Field is finally a reality! With all the quarters I dropped into that game at the local skating rink I could have purchased the game back in the day.

The game is in good shape and the sale at the Phoenix Arcade came at the perfect time for me to grab a new CPO and side art. The seller also included a trackball version of the control panel.

It's time to dig out a comb, put on some Prince and relive the mid-80's! I'll post some pictures later. I'd like to try and hunt down a new control panel...my has some dents.

Haa, I forgot about the comb trick!! Hilarious... I used to slide my canvas wallet back and forth on the buttons like a maniac. I'd love a Track and Field, but probably the closest I'll get is my dedicated panel with repro artwork and leaf buttons on my MAME, which is a crowd-pleaser when I have friends over. We all suck at the hammer throw, though...

Congrats on the find! My most-wanted game is also fairly common (Defender) and it took me almost 4 years to find a clean one. A couple times a decent one came up when I didn't have the cash or sold before I could even make an offer.
