Hi, was told this was original simpsons cabinet. I saw other pictures of the simpsons caninet and doesnt look like it at the top, but the rest does.. The top goes straight up where the simpsons one I saw comes out like a 45 angle. It also says atari on the data plate on the back door. Any help on this would be great.

Thanks John

ok, well thats was easy and fast. Thanks. Question for you. The Gauntlet cabinet, does it use the same overall cabinet for the simpsons? I ask because it looks like the same base, and overall except at the top. I could just remake the sides to match the original cabinet.

Do you know what size and monitor was in the simpsons aracde?

Thanks John

Simpsons is not the same cabinet. The Simpsons cabinet is much larger and i believe the monitor in the Simpsons is a 19".

You should restore it back to Gauntlet

Do any of you guys have simpsons cabinet where I could get some dimensions for it?

You can still use the Atari Cab for Simpsons. There's enough room on the control panel for 4 players. (considering Gauntlet was 4 player.)

Or...you could try and restore that Gauntlet. *nudge nudge wink wink*

The dedicated Simpsons uses the standard Konami 4 player 25" cab if that helps any, for example, TMNT and Crime Fighters.

Is the Gauntlet that popular? I ask because I see alot of them on ebay. I have played it, awesome game, but whats so special about it, the artwork?

many of us have fond memories of playing Gauntlet "back in the day." The artwork for the game was very nice as well and so was the large marquee. But to be honest Gauntlet for me, gets old real fast. But the same can be said for Simpsons as well. Its all about playing it with 3 other friends.
