Wanted to see if I purchased a Total Carnage dedicated Midway cabinet, can a smash TV PCB be put into the total carnage without any re-wiring? Or does the wiring different from the two games?
Any help would be appreciated.

Well from what I understand a total carnage can be easily swapped into a smash TV so I would assume the opposite should also be true.

Smash TV / Total Carnage are 100% interchangable without modifying wiring, brackets or messing around. Plug and play, they are identical board sets. Make sure you get a sound PCB if you're buying a board, otherwise you get no sound.

Then, they are not 100% interchangeable. You need the Total Carnage sound board too. Harness-wise - it's plug and play.

Swap the SmashTV PCB and sound with the Total Carnage and you're good to go. You can get a Jamma switcher and have them in the cabinet and switch in between them as well.

LOL, I said

Is that not exactly what I said? :)
Hahaha, damn its my first day back after a hiatus and I'm getting heckled!! :D

Oh, BTW back on subject, if you use a "YATON" jamma switcher it is NOT plug and play, one of the directions will not work and you need to run a few wires... I wasn't impressed with picture quality when using the YATON with Total Carnage and Smash TV, but I was able to make it work and play fine.

I've noticed with the Yaton switcher it is much happier with some pairs/types of boards than others, and you can have all sorts of wacky problems just changing one board out. I've had pretty good luck running it with similar boardset types, like the two Williams we've been talking about, or two Capcom boards like my Ghoul's N Ghosts and Strider... when I mix in an oddball with an oddball one of them doesn't seem to work right.

I think thats more than fair if its in good shape and is the original dedicated Total Carnage cab... Smash TV has the theme going for it, and being an 80's junky all I can think about is Arnold in the Running Man. I think the artwork and theme has the TC machine beat, but both cabinets are hard to find in descent shape.

if it's in good shape, well worth it. Especially since you've been looking for a while. jump on it.

also, I have both and I think Total Carnage has more replay value. Swapping boards takes all of 30 seconds.

Does anyone do sideart for Smash TVs? - mine is faded and has lost all of the original 'red' leaving only the blue and yellow - which looks OK oddly enough, but not great.

Well, I guess I wasn't meant for the total carnage.
I get there today, about an hour drive, and the game is missing the back door, there's 4 to 5 drill holes in the front of it, the back transport wheels are broken clean off and all of the leveling legs were removed and it looked like the game was pushed with the legs off.
To top it off they had like 4 cats in the garage where the game was kept. My guess if I got it home and starting cleaning it that I would be cleaning cat piss and shit out from the inside.
Well I guess it wasn't meant to be.
I'm still on the look out if anyone has any leads please let me know.
