Calling on Dokert and Timberterror's magic

Hmm, well my Goog-Fu turned up multiple suppliers with stock under $6/ea. in ~5min.

I guess I'm the Jedi Grandmaster :p

These would be them and they are relatively new to the market.

I would prefer crimp pins, but this is what is available at present.

Are you guys getting your supply from Hong Kong?

I ordered some up from Uxcell and on Ebay as well. They all appear to come from Draqonmart.

One other thing that's barely been mentioned here.....if they're reproducing harnesses exact, with correct wire coloring & striping.....you're gonna have to get wire custom striped. This will get expensive. Gottlieb used (up to) three stripes a wire. No off shelf wire is made like this. To my knowledge, none ever was. Gottlieb had their own striping machines....and did their wire "in house".

Maybe I'll show my ignorance here, but when I've restored machines of the same kind (like Pac-Man) I noticed that, while they seemed to stick with the same striping code in general terms, the actual base insulation color and striping color/width vary a LOT as does the gage of the wire. Good, I'm not tempted to be a purist--there really is no exact "original" wire.

Instead of using Sharpies which don't ink well and rub off, I use paint pens that are available in zillions of colors from craft supply stores. I clamp an end into a vise and stretch it out. Then I run the side of the paint pen tip over the wire. If it's a spiral stripe, I twist the wire first. Works for me and when that paint dries (in like 2 minutes), it seems to be as flexible and durable as original.

Yes, Taiwan to be exact

This is not practicle for the amount of wire that I use and or go through at any given time.

Striping is done at my wire source and 3 color striping is not an issue. Gottlieb used mostly beige (cream colored) wiring, and had their own in house striping.

Wire color and striping varied from day to day at all game makers back in the day. I have noticed this with my current wire source, especially with the color yellow. Sometimes it is bright yellow, and sometimes it is damn near golden rod. I have also noticed it when rewiring games side by side, that some color shades are slightly different.

I can picture it now.....Dave with wire "hubs" set up in the front yards of the entire block.....Eight primary wire colors with ten stripping colors....all the neighborhood kids with pockets full of paint pens....zipping up and down the yards stripping wire....Dave in the middle of it all, crashed on a lounge chair.....beer in hand.....cooler at side, filled with more!:D
