Calling For Houston Vicinity Monitor Help

Hey Guys,

I've been told by you pro's that I need to use a rejuvenator on my monitor.
See http://forums.arcade-museum.com/showthread.php?t=101779 for the backstory.
I live in League City, TX (between Houston and Galveston).
I'm hoping that someone in this area has access to one.
I'd be willing to drive to wherever you are, and buy you a case of beer/lunch/whatever.
It would also be great to meet another arcade enthusiast in this area!

Thanks!
J.Michael

If you can't find anyone there and feel like making a trip to Austin....

Houston area SOS!

Do we have a small Houston arcade community?
I would have thought that such a big city would have plenty of us!

There are several folks down there, but they may not frequent the repair forum. Or more specifically the monitor repair forum.

Would it be acceptable to create a post in another section to redirect here? (In an effort to draw the attention of other Houston arcade enthusiasts)

Well, you might post in the general arcade forum and ask who is in the Houston area. Basically introduce yourself and whatnot and then slip in the "I could use some monitor help BTW". Or something along those lines. :)

Heh -- I have a relatively simple thread languishing unread as well in the repair forum and was contemplating a post in the 'chat about anything' area called 'NSFW - Liberals vs Conservatives' that simply had a link to my languishing repair thread but I know that I'd get slapped around by the admins for that stunt. :)

Check out Houston Game Repair. They are on the north side of town. This is where I send most of my monitors when I don't have time to repair them.

Interesting. How would you describe your experiences/opinions of them?

The only person in Houston that I know of that has a rejuvenator is Callan. You can send him an e-mail through his website. vidpin.com

Demogo...............I have probably sent them 20 monitors over the years. They have been able to repair all of them except one, a WG D9410, with a bad Phillips tube that is no longer available according to them. So, I bought a new WG D9800 from them and they did not charge me the $35 labor charge. I kept the chassis as a spare.

The techs name is Ruben. He is not easy to get any info out of. If you ask what was wrong with the monitor, you will get "I don't remember". Large monitors usually cost $120-140 for parts and labor.

Great info, thanks.

Always looking for local "no drama" options.

Sorry, I just found this thread. I have a rejuve. I have not had a chance to test it. I bought it from saltbreez a few months ago to try to fix what I thought was a dead monitor. It turned out to be something else and it runs fine without rejuve.

You are welcome to borrow it. I am up in Humble, just off the Beltway.
