I wanted to know if Sega's wonderboy ever had its own cpo, I've seen the one on quarterarcade but it seems like a willis / bootleg overlay. Also did this game ever have side art? Or was it just generic Sega logos. The one at fun spot (inside a stern cabinet I think) looks like it has a choplifter control panel overlay. I know this game had an instruction card, and button stickers. Any other wonderboy owners ? Any one have a photo of funspots wonderboy side art?

This is the one @ funspot:

I'm pretty sure this was a kit - only game.

Alright It's been about 3 years.. So Bump.. Well can't say that I'm not determined to still located this!!, I would eventually really like to add this game into my collection... I believe this game not only did have a dedicated cabinet as seen here:

But also I'm pretty sure this game was also sold as a kit. As far as side art is concerned when this was distributed as a kit I'm 95% positive it came with the image below and rather not just generic Sega logos. I was able to locate this craptastic image that needs to be vectorized:

The only one I know who's able to reproduce this in such a crappy size is Fizgig

but I doubt he would want to since he's always busy doing a billion other restorations of his own. I know he was interested in a Choplifter and this game would compliment it well. I also don't have the skill set to reproduce the sideart based on eyeballing it but I'm sure again Fizgig or someone is capable.. Again I really need the cabinet first before I even get to that point.

The Wonderboy Kit the CPO should be a Generic Sega Blue logo that looks like this (Which I already Aquired a NOS one) :

Fun Spots Control Panel which they chopped up the instruction card.. but at least you can see the Jump / Attack Button Stickers:

Funspots Marquee is indeed correct I also aquired a Used original.:

I also acquired 2 PCB's one working the other not, in addition to a System 8 JAMMA adapter.

What I got..
Original PCB
Original Plexi Marquee
What I believe to be the correct CPO from the kit (Even if not it would be the one I would use)

What I need..
*Dedicated Sega cabinet (yeahh right)
*Button Stickers *It's literally just text, any one know the font ? or can reproduce them ?
*Instruction Card ( Although at least the instruction card can be found in Hi-Res...Here: http://www.crazykong.com/scans/WonderBoy_s.tif )
Wonder%20Boy%20Instruction%20Sticker.jpg

*Also can any one Identify what joystick this thing had? It looks like a non Wico, almost like a "Coin Control" 8-Way Leafswitch Joystick ?
**The dedicated CPO in that pic looks like stripes etc.. any one have that control panel ? or a NOS CPO ?>

So bottom line if anyone has the capability to located the dedicated sega cabinet working / not working I don't care or if it has a different game inside so long as the cab is solid. Preferably with the Sega side art intact. Unless of course this never existed as a dedicated cab and this was just someones nice conversion ? Any leads on obtaining the Sega cab would be nice or any knowledge about wonderboy that you can provide. I must own this cabinet, it's a relatively obscure game some might remember this game when it was on the NES called "Adventure Island". This was I believe Sega's answer to Super Mario Bros. from Nintendo, as Capcom produced their side scrolling game Ghosts N' Goblins.

forum member "Mrbill2084" apparently had one a year ago for around 75 bucks (at that price i'd ship it).. I'm sure it's gone by now... http://forums.arcade-museum.com/showthread.php?t=165707

I don't really want to give up and I'm going to be pretty persistent in trying to track this down I would rather not like to toss this into a generic Dynamo cab, but if I must I must as a last resort. Again I'm sure ones floating around. I'm sorry I missed Mbill2084's post last year or I woulda jumped on that.

That cab looks the same as the Alien Syndrome cabinet. Similar to the atari cab. Bumping to help find more Mid80s Sega stuff.

I got mine as a converted Donkey Kong/Jr.View attachment 120004

Yeah that's the bootleg stuff. I've only seen about 2-3 of these cabs pop up in the past 5-7 years, one was inside a taito cab, and other than that picture I posted I have yet to see it in the dedicated *or what I think is the dedicated cabinet. If anyone can track one of those cabs shoot me a PM !

It looks similar but I don't think it's the same as Alien Syndrom cab... I think Alien Syndrome cab had two lights inside the control panel to illuminate the sega logo and the top.
