There have been a lot of people asking, and i know i have been wondering so i decided to look into it a little more.

Now, i haven't really looked at any of this stuff since i graduated 3 years ago ( with an electrical engineering degree) and most of the classes i took skimmed over this very lightly...

Would it be possible to take this fpga ( http://www.fpgaarcade.com/parts.htm ) and program it to process the signals it recieves like the PPU's for the Nintendo Vs?? I mean, the only thing that changes with each PPU is how it displays the colors right? I think i read it uses shift registers to complete this? Each chip contains color pallet information. That means the information for the pallet has to be in mame code somewhere...


Just bouncing this off you guys. I don't at all know if it is possible, but i figured if there is a mass of knowledge out there maybe we can pull this off....
