Called this guy out on Craigslist, now he is going to report me to the authorities.

I keep seeing this guy post this crappy Mame machine on the local Phoenix Craigslist every 2 or 3 days for the last few weeks for $1,988 (Yes, you read that right $1,988). (See the photo below if he removes the item here is the link: http://phoenix.craigslist.org/evl/vgm/3076414981.html ) I finally decided to send him an email to tell him he was out of his mind.

He then wrote this email back telling me if I contacted him again here would contact the "authorities" and tell them I was "threatening" him. Oh my God, I have not laughed so hard in so long. This really made my night!

Oh, and his email signature proves just how stupid he is.

Here is his email:

You must be a loser who enjoys responding to people who are using this site legitimately while you live in your little depressing POS life.

Please do not waste my time or respond again or I'll report your ignorance and condesending actions to the local authorities as a threat, you miserable human being.

Thanks, pk

I just sent him a reply pointing to this post. I'll let you know when the cops show up at my door for me "threatening" him. hahahahahaha!

OK..... Need the "rest of the story"

Post the letter you sent him. Let's see what he was responding too before roasting him.

Often, appraisals are not solicited or wanted by sellers, so the reaction is saying "move along, move along" in any manner of English verse.

I've given them myself and got the FU reaction on occasion. Smile and move on, hell, the last one was at Allentown and that POS machine is still for sale on EBAY for 4x it's best value.

Here is my original email. Sure, he could have told me to F off, (and I would have been fine with that) it was the "I'll call the authorities on you for threats" that made me laugh and decide to post it here. :)

You do realize that no matter how many times you re-list this Mame machine you are still high with the asking price right? If you want to get a better idea on pricing search Google for KLOV (Killer list of video games) or the Arcade Controls forum.

when the cops show up....point out that his mame game is breaking several laws of copyrights and isnt licensed......watch the worm squirm

That is what I thought the original email was going to state. Not that it was overpriced, but that it was a overpriced machine containing illegal ROMs.

Easiest thing to do is just flag it when things are illegal. Overpriced- just move along.

I couldnt see the picture well. If it was built well it can be worth $2k. I have 1 that I biult myself, restored all the way. It doent have the spinball, but do have rapid fire, and slowmo options. I probably spent $100 total for it, and worth $300 in parts, but itsthe time spent putting it togeter, and finished presentation. A buyer (outsde the Mame/arcade scene) will think its $2K.

Please show us all a photo of this $2,000 Mame machine. I've never seen one that is worth anywhere near $2,000

Uneducated people who think they mean something.

Actually, I get those from many corporate email systems from a variety of companies that I deal with at work. I think it's tacked on as a signature line by their IT folks.

I didn't read his email back but if it came from a work email address then it makes sense.

His email address is [email protected] so its not a corp email address, just a gullible email user. After looking him up online (because I was bored today) he lists himself as a "Life Coach" whatever the hell that means.

Haha, really?

"Life coaches" that I've run across are like crosses between a motivational speaker and a personal adviser that try to talk you past your perceived obstacles in life.

Pretty funny that he'd snap like that.

From what you said, he probably just grabbed that line from someone that sent him an email.

I looked at my work inbox not long ago and it was full of emails from folks from other companies that all said that. It's pretty common I think in the corporate world.

The photo was absolute crap and turned sideways. The jerk doesnt even now how to turn off exif data when he posts his picture. I watched this thing for weeks too. It was $2088 last week, then $1988. The pricing probably has something to do with the alignment of the planets or some weird crap.

Can you imagine....being at a party/event/function.....and someone asking you "what you do"........and you have to respond...."life coach".

Sorry if I offended any life coaches out there......it's probably not your first time:D.

If someone laughed at me saying "life planner" job at a party, I'd gather up my man-purse and head home!

What is up with that "confidentiality warning" at the end of his e-mail? Who does that?.....

Edward

Probably a work email signature set by the office's mail server. We have something similar where I work.
