Hey!

I was wondering if anyone could help me, it seems i have a bit of a ghost in the machine. here's what happens.

Starting a game, when you select the track/car/type of transmission you select using the gas pedal, works fine.
Game starts, during the 3...2..1... countdown you can rev the engine using the gas pedal no problem.

As soon as the race begins, the needle drops to 0 and you don't move, pressing and letting go of the gas pedal does nothing, dead like a door nail.

But, as soon as i go into diagnostics and the control tests, (just testing not re-doing the settings) it shows working between the low and high readings perfectly.

Once i do that and load the game again, the gas works perfectly for a couple more games/days

What the heck is causing this? i don't think it's the battery because i replaced it recently, and it keeps the coin settings and all the high scores?

Please help me figure this one out!

Thanks

Eric

It's most likely the brake pot. try recalibrating in test mode under the controls area (I think pushing the bottom of the 3 buttons and holding it will reset the wheel, gas and brake)..then press the brake and make sure it changes and goes back to 0000 when you release it. If it doesn't, you'll need to replace the pot. One of my Cali Speeds does this occasionally and a recalibration fixes it. I really should fix it at some point :p

Mine does this every once in awhile also, it seems to do it in the heat of a game when the gas & brake are pressed together by mistake. Its only done it to me a few times though and hasnt done it lately, maybe the last calibration did the trick, who knows? If all else fails, disconnect the brake pedal, it's not likely youll ever use it anyway (at least if you play like I do).

You need to go into diagnostics and recalibrate the pedals and wheel. Also check your cmos battery. If its dead your calibration wont save and you'll have to calibrate everytime you turn it on.

This is common on CalSpeed. Do you know what version your running?

Calibration will fix the game for a short period of time but I've found the buring a new hard drive and installing it works for longer periods of time. It will happen again at some point though.

EDIT: I think that version 2.1a fixed this??? Its been a long time since we've had a CalSpeed on the route so I'm not 100% on that.

Nope. Mines 2.1 and has shown the same problem in the past. They seem to have a "sweet spot" during calibration. Mine hasnt done it for awhile now.

Maybe its 2.1 that introduced this problem then?? I know I had some machines that would do it all the time and others never did it.
