California Speed loses it's settings when shut down

As the title says, whenever I reboot the machine, it seems to go back to its default settings and also erases all high scores. This being a hard disk game, I thought it might actually write settings to the drive, but apparently not. Is this a function of the nicad battery on the main pcb?

probably. replace the battery and reset it. Hopefully you don't have to reset the CMOS....

Thanks Mr. Bill. I have the same problem only it wasn't really an issue, but knowing the fix helps a lot.

It's not really an issue here either, but now my son is ticked off because he finally beat one of my scores and it reset because I powered it down last night :D ... that and it gets old resetting the game options to freeplay and increasing the FF all the way up

I bought a few cr2325's off ebay (game actually has a br2325) a while ago.. Pretty sure its the same battery for all the seattle pcbs as well as the midway games like nba jam,MK and mortal kombat
