OK, I thought I understood this topic, but I can't figure this one out.

2 California Speeds, both running 1.07 HD, both in dedicated cabs. One does have the sticker on the CPU marked Hyperdrive. One runs faster than the other in demo mode (maybe different clock speed)?

Anyway, You can start a linked game but about 5 secdonds in, one of the two (both have done it), reboots. My question is... why won't these link without resetting? Any ideas?

Thanks,
-Mike

One of the sound roms is marked Hyperdrive... don't think that would matter. Not CPU.

Dunno but when my chassis comes back from chad I will look and see what sticker is on my cpu. I might be able to swap you if this was the reason they wont link. Ill try to watch this thread if not shoot me a pm.

AS I typed this I seen you just posted again so nevermind..:)

but if you do end up wanting to swap let me know and I will see what I can do.

Are they both Hyperdrive cabs and CPU boards that have been converted to CalSpeed or is one of them an HD and the other a factory CalSpeed?

I recall the CPU's in both of those games needing a mod that involved changing a cap and a crystal. Look at the crystal near the CPU IC. I "think" that they are suppsed to be 48.0 hz not 50.0 hz. If one of them is still 50 then that might be your problem.

I ahve a Vapor TRX coming in, will try bouncing boards around between it and these to see if I can get them to work. I am pretty confident it has something to do with the varying clock sppeds, as Matt suggested.

Problem solved... swapped out both boards with ones from a Vapor TRX that run on the same clock speed. Apparently there are 4 different versions of the Seattle board!
