I was just thinking last night that the CA Extreme show is only about 2 months distant...how did that happen?
We certainly hope to see as many of you as possible again (or for the first time). We are hard at work already getting things together, lining up interesting and unique seminars (we have some really cool stuff in the works...look for announcements soon on this front), talks, contests, the raffle, etc, and of course lining up another killer game list.
Towards the latter's end, here is a copy of the official "Game Call" for the show. If you're in the area (or even if you're not
), chime in if you want to join the crazy/fun and show off some of your respective collections and bring some games down to the show.
PM me anytime with what you have and what you can bring, and we can go from there.
NOTE: We made one change to the policy...while the first 3 games brought = 1 free pass still holds, we upped the ante a little in that each multiple of 2 games brought thereafter garners an additional free pass! So that's 2 free passes for 5 games, 3 free passes for 7 games, etc., etc. Dust off your games and bring 'em down for the fun!

Greetings again from the CA Extreme Team!
Another CA Extreme show is fast approaching. Can you believe this will be year number 15? And the show continues to grow each year with another record attendance last year which continues to warm all of our hearts certainly. And the enthusiasm remains as high as ever. We also have some (as always) new and interesting seminars/speakers in the works, as well as new contests to test your knowledge and skills.
So this will be the annual "game call" for this year's show. We will be at the same venue as the past 2 years (the Santa Clara Hyatt Regency) which continues to be well-received by everyone. All other factors remain the same including the 100% free parking for everyone, including all types of trucks, trailers, vans, etc. And the hall will be the same as well with plenty of room for more games!
I'll keep it as short as I can from here as the drill for bringing games remains mostly the same. We will offer a new perk to try to encourage more games, however. As before, the first 3 games brought (or 2 EMs) will garner a free weekend pass, but starting this year, we will offer additional free passes for each multiple of 2 games brought after the first 3! In other words, you will receive 2 free passes for 5 games brought, 3 passes for 7 games, etc., etc. So dust off all of the games you can, reserve the vehicle(s) you need, and bring some more games if you can
.
The Hyatt has generously given us another terrific room rate ($87/night) for attendees. Just mention the show's name and you'll get this great rate for a very comfortable room. Amenities include discounts to the hotel restaurant and even discounted tickets to nearby Great America if you want to check the amusement park out, too. See the details here.
Here are the specifics of this year's show:
Dates : July 9th & 10th
Location : Hyatt/Regency, Santa Clara
Hours : Sat. (11AM – 2AM), Sun. (11AM – 9PM)
The guidelines for bringing games are here.
As in previous years, bringing games for sale is perfectly acceptable, but please remember that there is the early game removal policy (see above link). The purpose of the policy is to maintain as many games on the show floor as long as possible since the huge variety of games is what makes the show so special.
Exceptions to the game removal policy can be made if you notify us in advance. For instance, if you truly can only attend the show for 1 of the dates, just let us know and we will in most cases gladly waive the game removal policy. Certainly, if you have a particularly rare piece, we would absolutely love to see it at the show and we will make whatever accommodations we can to encourage that these rare games make an appearance.
On behalf of the entire CA Extreme staff, thank you for the support everyone has given us through the years, and we all hope to see you in July!
Keep on gaming,
Jonathan and the Extreme Team
