California Extreme 2024!!!

Hmm, no outside water? That's kind of shitty. I can support this if you want a soda or beer, but water? Really?

Cargo shorts with water bottles inside? ;)

There is always a cold water dispensing fountain with tiny cups just outside the main entrance...

Yeah....I saw that. No water? Really? Damn.

But yeah, the water cooler is there. Hope they don't run out of cups.
(It happens briefly every year at least once. :ROFLMAO: )

They need a room temp water option though. Chilled water is too cold!
I can't drink that crap unless I've been hiking in Death Valley for a week with no water at all.
Then it becomes....tolerable.

Completely agree. They figure that because we have pockets full of quarters that they can nickel and dime us
Guys, FYI about the drink policy: It comes from the Convention Center and not us. As annoying as it is, we have no choice but to adhere.

Hope everyone understands 😁.

I've poked around the website and seem to be overlooking any info on parking. Specifically for those of us driving to the show both days? Is the front lot free and paid in the garage? Per hour?

Thx

It's California. One should always prepare by puckering up when dealing with anything in California. If there is a way to monetize it... they will.

Parking is free at the Hyatt but the parking situation can change year to year. Unless there's another event overrunning the on-site garage, you just park in the Hyatt / Santa Clara Convention Center garage. It has three levels and plenty of space for CAX but it can fill up in the afternoon if there are other events at the convention center, which the hotel shares the garage and property with. If it is filled, they'll generally direct you around to the City of Santa Clara garage for Levi's Stadium, which will also be free if used for overflow parking. The city garage closes earlier in the evening (10PM if I remember correctly), but CAX makes announcements if that's the case and by then the regular garage is emptied out, so you just move your vehicle back around the corner.

Honestly the only issue with the Hyatt (other than the loading dock, I know everyone hates the loading dock) since the show moved over there over a decade ago is the parking management company the event space uses. They have to be the most consistently inept traffic control I have ever encountered - and that's for every event at the location.

Might have to bring my own cooler with my prescription water… 🫣

Luckily there's a pharmacy located right there in the hotel lobby! ;)

Room drinks are the best way to go, however. I think last year a Captain & 7 at the hotel bar was $13 or some shit. :oops2:

Ok, so no fees to park during the day but as always subject to availability. Levi apparently has a Soccer game on Sat. I didn't recall paying in past years but we stayed at the Regency. Couldn't get in this year.

Thanks @InsaneDavid !

Now..now...Zaxxon has its place at the show. In fact, it looks like we'll have a cocktail version on hand this time!

Also, multiples of some games are often quite welcome...certainly PacMan qualifies in that respect. A couple of years back, we had some unusual multiples such as two I, Robots and two upright Star Treks. I also remember one time having something like 10 Star Wars uprights, and they were all being played at various times throughout the show. Heck, there was even one year that we had two Zektors on hand :D .

As mrbill says, LMK what you might want to bring, and I'll respond to let 'ya know if we can use it (with the most likely answer being a resounding "yes").

I felt bad for zaxxon, so I bought this shirt. Probably more fun than the game..
