I took some pics at California Extreme last year, also will be there taking pictures this year. I did graphics for my buddies custom built Mortal Kombat Cab, and Ed Boon heard about it, twittered that he was coming and then showed up. He was so impressed with the build and graphics that he autographed it and talked to everyone about it for awhile. So that was pretty cool. I have some pics below of the cab.

I will be making some of these into large canvas prints for my gameroom, if anyone else is interested let me know.

Great stuff you have there. Very interesting PP and compositions. I am assuming you were using bracketed shots for many of those, judging by the detail in the cabs and lit marquees.

I really like what you did here. Care to share any details on the PP?

I have a Pentax K20D and yeah they are all mostly HDR images. 5 step bracketing. I didnt even get to set my camera up the way I wanted or anything. It was in the morning before they opened and the guys only let me in for 5 minutes so I was running around like crazy just to get shots. So I am not even sure what settings I used since I was in such a hurry. I do know my ISO was pretty high because it was dark in there. Resulting in 80% of my images not being that great and too grainy. But these were the best of them. So this year when I go I will ask for more time when nobody is around to get some really good ones.

Cool. I plan to bring some gear this year and try and get some good shots as well. Maybe we can meet up and exchange notes and do a little shooting together. You going to be around Friday as well?

Do you use Photmatix for your HDR? I have only used PS CS5 and my results are either too fake or too grey for my liking. I end up just masking and using adjustment layers. Your shots are nice and smooth.

Nice job on the graphics that looks cool! Too bad you didn't get more pix of some of the rarer games like the Marble Man 2 I see and a few others that look interesting. Not necessarilly the giant cabs but some of the others.

Brick Top, yeah we can for sure meet up and do some photos. I will be there Friday, Saturday and Sunday. A fly to Vegas, help my buddy load up about 7 pinball cabs and some arcades, then drive to CAX. As the HDR goes I use photomatrix only for the actual HDR processing. Then use photoshop to fix anything or color correct.

I have a cheesy site I just put up with just a few of my work. You can check it out if you want.
