I recently had a small fire incident with my Double Dragon Board because of a monitor I hooked up wrong which can be found at http://forums.arcade-museum.com/showthread.php?t=153061. Anyway it did the same thing to my Cadash board as well but the only difference is I can here sound and everything works except their is no picture. The Double Dragon board seems to not be working at all and the R14, R15, R16 are burnt up beyond belief. On the Cadash board i see no damage except for what looks like one of the "R" resistors has melted a little. I was wondering if these boards are possibly fixable? Thanks in advance!! Oh, I can post picture if needed!

Here's is the only thing I see wrong with the Cadash board although I'm not sure if it was like that when I got it or if its even faulty.

The boards are most likely repairable. The first thing you need to do is replace all obviously damaged components. While replacing these components you need to verify the traces are still good and replace them if necessary. Next, you should check any chips (using truth tables and a logic probe/pulser is the cheapest method) that were in the area of the damage (electricly, not necessarily physically) to ensure they are working properly and replace any damaged chips.

Extensive damage is repairable but the costs of the repairs often exceed the value of the board. If you are willing to do the repair work yourself it can be a great learning experience but if you are looking to outsource the work it will likely be cheaper and faster to just buy repalcement boards.

I really would like to get this fixed but in all honesty I don't know which Resistors I would need to buy. Anyone familiar with these boards at all?
Thanks,
Kane
