I picked up an Atari Avalanche a while back for $25, the game wasn't working so I have being working on the pcb trying to get it up an running with no luck. I won an ebay auction for another avalanche pcb for $10.50 so I am hoping that solves that issue. While I am waiting for the board to arrive, I want to start cleaning the game up cosmetically. Along one edge where the T-molding is it looks like the game took a bit of a whack which caused some damage to the wood. Just wondering what the best way to go about fixing the damage or am I best to just leave it since the game is so old.

Bondo is your friend!

Clean the broken pieces of particle board out of the damaged area so you have a fairly decent surface to adhere to, mix up some bondo, and start filling in the hole.

Don't try to do it all at once. It works better if you apply a little, let it dry, apply a little more, let it dry, etc.

Once you have built the damaged area back up to an even surface with the "good" wood around it, sand down your bondo, prime and re-paint to match the colors of the original cabinet.

I have done it this way a million times and it works like a charm.

Good luck with your game!

P.S. When sanding bondo, always wear a mask!

if its all still there i think i would fill it full of wood glue then get some clamps and try to smoosh it all back togther...
