I'm trying to figure out a game I picked up recently. Anybody know what kind of cabinet this is? I first thought it was one of the Konami-4-p cabs converted, but I don't recognize the cut front corners...

Second question, I need to figure out if this is running a med-res monitor inside. I know Gauntlet DL usually has a med-res, but has a dip-switch for standard-res.

Sorry if this is a newbie question, but I have terrible luck decoding monitors. They never say what the hell the are, at least in a consistent or logical place!

Here are some pics under the hood:

Mortal Kombat I cabinet. Or atleast very similar to it. The CP box looks custom made or they removed it from a Dynamo big blue cab.

don't think that's a mk1 as it doesn't have the board access door on the 2p side. and mk1 didn't come with a hantarex polo, not sure but i think all the polo's are standard res, i could definitely be wrong tho. also the shelf holding the gauntlet board is odd to me.

Monitor cage says atari...

The shelf holding the Gauntlet board is at a 45 degree angle, the up end near the front of the cab. It looks like it is set up to access by opening the CP and pulling the whole thing out the front, though most of the board can be accessed from the back door.

Can you give us a full side shot? There seems to be a strange cut-out along the bottom. I've seen cut-outs like that on Konami and Namco cabs.

OK, here ya go...

I think what you are seeing is just damage to that side.

Oh yeah, this has rear-wheels for moving it like a dolly.

Bezel looks exactly the same too.

OK, so anybody know if this monitor is a med res? How can you tell?

what are the dips on the board set at? pretty sure it's standard res. i don't know a lot about monitors tho (still just a yellow belt).
