I don't think there's a good concensus on this, frankly. I've heard of people using the felt BENEATH the plastic too, lol.

Everyone does seem to agree that Stern has FINALLY nailed down a real solution on their new games though... put metal blocks that the legs touch on the cabinet so that they never touch the body of the cabinet in the first place, then cut the decals to fit around the blocks so they don't wrinkle. Haven't heard of a single person complaining of that solution....too bad it won't retroactively work.

Where in Dallas are you located, and what pins ya got? Great to see someone else local on here...

I'm over by 635/75. I've got LOTR, Rollergames, Time Machine, and Space Shuttle. Space Shuttle is in playfield swap, Rollergames waiting on parts for the sound to work and I gotta shop the playfield after that...Time Machine is up in plano...just needs flipper and pop rebuilds to be 100% playable, and LOTR is fast and mean. :)

It seems to me like the plastic ones are best for painted cabs while the felt ones are best for games with decals.

Though over time I'd imagine that either would be fine on a painted cab and both will eventually mess up decals. :/ Probably not as badly as legs joined directly to the cab though?
