I just picked up a video poker machine that was inside an arcade cabinet. Whoever did the poker machine conversion did a pretty awful job on the control panel and monitor bezel, so I'd like to put a proper control panel and bezel on the game.

Looking at John's silhouette identification chart, the cabinet looks very similar to a bunch of different cabinet. So I'm not sure what I have.

Does anyone have any idea what this cabinet use to be?

generic cab used for bootlegs.

same cab is used on a lot of bootlegs like Crazy Kong and Congorilla

most of the cabs i've seen like this have metal control panels. doing a quick google image search landed me on a cab that looks just like yours but has a wooden control panel. judging by the spacing between the front-bottom panel and the existing control panel leads me to believe your cab likely used a wooden panel as well.

tldr: just cut your own panel out of some spare wood.

Lyon for the win! Now time to track down a control panel.

Thanks everyone for your help!

DonPanetta was correct too! Positive it is the same generic company that makes both. Any tag information inside of the cabinet that might have been left after the conversion to state the name of the company?

Looks like for that style, two holes would have to be drilled to attached. Port Man cab shown above might have had screws to add a hinge.

Ah! Found a 100% cabinet match!!!

That said, looks like you can use a CP from a congorilla ( same cabinet) :D

saw this pic but i also noticed that some of these cabs use different coin doors and control panels. we can sum up the coin door issue to either some games needs or just using whatever stock they can get. the control panel issue is a little different tho.

Notice the spacing between these cabs side panels and the control panels. The krazy Kong could possibly be a wooden panel with a piece of angled steel in the back to sit flush with the glass or its a control panel with a slimmer bend at the top. i highlighted the area i'm talking about with green arrows

So I suppose what I am saying, is I think a wooden/bolted/screwed cp for that cabinet will work, but I think the wooden and screwed wouldn't cause any extra modifications.

JakeJones07, take off the control panel, and look for some holes left if there was screw type hinge there before :)

This one has the same gap, and same color as the inside, along with same coin door:

Yep. depending on what JakeJones07 wants to do with the cab it may be best to check out what's underneath that thin metal 8-liner panel or just make a new wood panel from scratch.

Don/MG-Both your Google-Foos surpass my own! Great job digging up those cabinet images. Those pictures are spot on (thanks for the annotation!). These will come in handy as I start to tear into that 8-liner panel.

I'll post back here when I get into taking apart the existing CP. I'm not quite sure what I'm going to do with the cabinet yet. Depending on how the cabinet cleans up, I might keep it, or try to flip it to fund another project!

I haven't seen any cabinet maker marks yet, I'll let reply back here if I find anything.
