Centipede for sure. Still has the interior cardboard. Nice. Bet you could peel the blue off to find artwork too.

Just sent him an email. Hope I can get it.

I took a good look at the picture, and I think that the original artwork is still there. (You can barely make out its head) Would be great if it is!

It would be, but (and you might not care) Centipedes are everywhere. If your intention is to restore that one, you might end up fronting more cash than it'd take to get a perfectly good one shipped to Vancouver...

Agree with Pook. It might cost more to make it legit again.

However, that being said, here's what I would do just to make better use out of that:

1. Buy it for no more than $50.
2. Peel the paint off to reveal the true art.
3. Use the power supply (and I'm assuming the jamma harness) in there and buy a 60-1 board for $85.
4. Play the Centipede game immediately along with a bunch of others.
5. When money can afford it, order the cpo, marquee, trackball, fresh buttons, etc.
6. The Bezel will be the hardest thing to track down. If I recall correctly they were glass like Dig Dug. So finding someone reliable to ship it safely for a decent cost might be tricky.

If this is what you end up doing, I'll mail you some decal art for centipede. It's basically the Centipede instructions and the Marquee as big full-length stickers. You can stick them directly to the plexi that exists there. They are 27" wide though, so you'll have to cut them down a couple inches to fit, but they are free if you want them.

Thanks for the responses.
I'm just wondering, do you know how much the board, trackball, CPO, and marquee/bezel each go for? Just want to have an estimate on how much it will cost. I recall seeing that the cone buttons go for a lot, I hope the other pieces aren't as expensive.

Last game that I bought, the seller was asking 100 for a converted Pacman, in a similar condition, and he wouldn't take less than $80 for it... But I guess there is no harm in trying.

I kind of like getting machines in this condition and converting them back. It's probably not the best route cashwise, but its more fun IMO. :D

Do you have any pics of them? Just want to see what they look like.
Thanks.

I think the best bet if you plan on truly returning it back to a Centipede is to simply buy a panel with original art and the controls already on it. I believe Quarter Arcade does this alot. The bezel shouldn't be alot, but also will be a pain to ship. Maybe $50 plus $40 for shipping?

No idea on the board, harness, brick. If it's been fully jammatized in their you'll need them all. (if you are returning it to factory).

These are the stickers. You'd have to cut and inch off the ends to make it fit. But they would essentially just stick right over your glass bezel/ marquee on that cab.

So I went to the seller's house today, and checked out the machine.
The cabinet is in decent shape, with no water damage on the bottom. There is a lock bar on the front, so looks like a bit of bondo is going to be required.
Inside the game, its a complete mess. There is a lot of spider webs and dead bugs, and the wire harness is going to have to be replaced. Luckily, though, the original power brick is in there, and it looks as though the original art is salvageable.
I asked if he would sell it for $50, and he agreed.

Looks as the problem is either the Power supply, or the game board. (There is a switcher in the game right now)

He also had a Galaxian converted into a Gallag, but he knew how to fix the Vertical Hold problem it was having, and was asking $200 for it.

I am going to pick it up tomorrow, as I didn't have enough time to get it, bring it home, etc.

What boards will I need to run the game? Is it just the AR-II board and the Main PCB, or is there some other boards that I am missing?

Thanks.

And Gozer, I sent you a PM.

Download a copy of the centipede manual and read through it. It has great pictures and descriptions and will help you figure out what you need. arcade archive has a great selection of manuals.
