Cabinet ID please - It's a Cliff Hanger, now what to do with it?

Sorry if the side picture is a bit dark.

Cabinet is made out of plywood and appears to have originally been red. It has an Atari sticker on the back but the sticker looks like it is from a conversion kit and I don't think atari did plywood cabinets anyway.

The underside of the control panel didn't really shed any light on the subject, nor did anything else inside the cabinet.

Hard to tell from the pics, but it looks like a Cliff Hanger cabinet, specifically leftover(?) cabinets that were converted to Crown's Golf and had a centered coin-door panel installed (IIRC, you won't be able to see the very bottom of the cabinet from the inside).

Yep, the bottom of the cabinet is inaccessible from the inside. You nailed it, leftover Cliff Hanger cabinet.

I really can't believe I accidentally bought both Cliff Hanger and Crazy Climber Deluxe cabinets at the same auction while simply trolling for deals. My only thought about this one in advance was a vague (hmmm, probably Stern) when I bid on it.

Ok, who sells the artwork for these things, I know someone must because I see people building these things back up from empty cabinets.

Cliff Hanger has an access door on the right for the boards to slide out the front like Berzerk. I don't see that door?

Factory conversion of one at least. Not sure what really went in it. I don't see any evidence of it ever being that Crowns Golf blue.

Humm.....Thats funny because the inside of my Cliffy is all oversprayed pink and blue....

Red is the only thing that seems to stand out on mine, it looks like even the sides were red.

I believe your cab was a dedicated Chinese Hero... the red color and the control panel layout pretty much seals the deal.

Kyle

Looks like it was a Klax before it was a Neo geo, there is another overlay below the klax one that isn't Chinese Hero (unless there is another chinese hero overlay that I haven't seen), but it and the klax overlay are so thin and damaged I am not able to uncover it properly to identify it.

Found a Chinese Hero label inside the cabinet, which confirms that.

The Neo Geo stuff is coming out of this machine and into my plastic 25" Sega cabinet. This machine is going to get the 19 in 1 board.

First coat of paint is almost dry, going to need a second coat for sure.
