Cab ID?

Congrats! What do you need a table saw for? I thought I needed one until I learned how to cut what I needed off of 4x8 sheets with a circular saw, a 2x4 and some clamps.

Using a circular saw with guides and clamps was my original plan for the top of the cabinet. But for that front panel, I'm worried that any slop in my cut quality would be super noticeable.

Besides, I've always wanted a table saw, and this finally gives me a good excuse to buy one.

Enjoy the table saw. ;)

No, the NTSC board was missing. Ray, if you've got the original NTSC board lying around, I'd sure like to get that from you.

As for the extra wires to power the NTSC board, I've looked closely at the chassis, and they are strangely missing. I'm certain this is the factory original monitor, so this confuses me. Fortunately, I have the exact model monitor on my workbench, so it will be easy to figure out.

Channelmanic (Ray), thanks again, And I hope you didn't really need any Tylenol. :)

Texed you pics of what I have. These came from another local and were not with the cab so I don't know if they are the right ones for what you need.

Shaun, IIRC, the WGK49xx will not have any extra wires on the chassis, since that was only the G07. There was a lot of related discussion on D-L-P about these years ago. If you need reference pics, I have both versions of these NTSC boards.

Hmmm

I have a WGK49xx sitting side by side with this WGK49xx. My first monitor has the power wires tapped off of the chassis, but the monitor from the game I'm restoring does not.

I can tell that these wires were added onto my monitor, most likely by Cinematronics, but then why was it not also added onto this second monitor, unless it's not the factory original. Oh well, it's easy enough to rig up.

Ray, I'd like to get that NTSC board from you. I'd also like the red molex connectors that attach to it. I know it wasn't part of the original deal, so just let me know what you want for it.

This is what your WGK49xx looks like? I thought those were plugged into the chassis and not soldered. In retrospect, I think I was mistaken.

Shaun, the solder points, wire colors, and where they go in each plug would be great information to both have and post.

Yes, that is the correct monitor.

Your right. This information needs to be documented.
I'll take pictures and do a write-up to be posted in the Tech Center over on the D-L-P.com

What does this board fit?

That's a new one to me and I've never seen one in a DL or SA. Some type of a NTSC style converter and amp or such?

I'm guessing that it is a NTSC + RGB multiplexer to combine laser video with computer graphics. But I've never seen it before.

What does it say above the 25-pin D-sub? Is that an in or out?

"RGB/Audio In"

You know, since the point of the NTSC board is to convert composite video into RGB, then this mystery board must be mixing, or switching between, two RGB sources.

Anybody seen this thing before?

Is it a 25 pin or 23 pin sub-D. It looks like a genlock. If it's 23 pin it would work with amiga/commodore computer to overlay rgb on composite video. Not sure about the audio out
