the C606 capacitor on the 20 EZV is a 3-terminal one, like (looking from the back of the board):
Code:
-

       o

+
i can't find a 3-terminal replacement for it, and i've been reading that you can replace a 3-terminal with a 2-terminal if you just jumper across the two terminals that are connected internally anyway. from board measurements it looks to me like the - and the 3rd terminal (the "o" above) are the ones that need to be jumpered.

so, is this the way to replace the C606, and if so are those the right two terminals to connect?

thanks in advance.

You don't need to jumper anything. That third terminal is just for support, to keep the cap from tilting. It's not connected to anything inside the cap.

On multisegment caps, you'll find shapes like a circle, half circle, square, and triangle to signify which pin is ground and which pins are the various different capacitor values. These shapes will be on the bottom of the cap AND stamped or labeled on the side along with their voltage and capacitance ratings.

They all share a common ground so simply use multiple caps to replace the multi-segment one. Tie the ground wires together and if you use axial caps with some heat shrink tubing you can even try to fit them all inside the old can to make them look like the original. ;)

But... as mentioned by Ian, this particular one was a single cap in the can so no need to go too hog wild unless you want to stuff a replacment inside to make it look original.
