What does it entail to convert a BW to a Gravitar (well, I'd like both games to use the same cab). I assume the harness is different?

Here is a link that might help.

Here is the reverse of what your doing.

Also I believe Kevin in Middleton converted one, so he could prob help when he gets back form China.
I think its a pretty easy conversion.

if your cabinet already plays BW, then it already has the 4 wires added to the harness(needed to play BW, not used in gravitar). So its swap board and swap control and your done.

Is it ok to have those 4 wires connected on the edge connector, when the Gravitar board is in the machine? I would have to look at a wiring diagram. If it did matter I would put quick connects on these 4 wires.

It makes no differerence.. the wires go to a 4 pin molex that connects to the BW pannel. when you pull the pannel off and drop in the gravitar, they are not connected. So its 3ft of wire going nowhere..

What about Space Duel? Are the control pinouts the same as Gravitar? IIRC, the layout is the same but I could be talking out of my ass. Its still early.

No- Space Duel has a 24 pin connector and Gravitar has a 12 pin connector to the control panel.

All of the pins needed to play Gravitar are fed out to the Space Duel connector, so you can make an adapter to play Gravitar in a Space Duel cabinet with either a Space Duel control panel or a Gravitar control panel.

I used to make some of these- it may be time for another run.

What he said. I added BW to my Gravitar and had to add wires to the harness. You already have them so it's just a board swap and then configuring the buttons. I like Gravitar better.
