So, my bro-in-law had someone give him this, and he gave it to me because it says "arcade" on it:

Well, I've decided to rewire the thing and use it as a test-bench control panel.

I'd like to label the buttons - S1, S2, Test, Service, Coin1, Coin2, etc - so I can just hit the specific ones during testing to make sure they all work when testing a board on my bench. The CPO material - and spacing of the buttons - is not really conducive to putting labels next to the buttons, and I'd really like to label the buttons themselves.

Unfortunately, I doubt it's possible to do it like the start buttons on there are done (ink printed), so the next ideal solution would be to have clear round stickers with the lettering printed on the backside in white (since the buttons are black), and an adhesive on the back after the printing to adhere to the button. I don't want to print black on white on top, then stick it on, as my fingers will most likely either smudge the ink or make it wear away in the long run.

Anyone have an idea of how or where I can make this happen?

That's going to be tricky. That's a pretty crummy layout. What the heck game uses EIGHT buttons? And those two lower buttons can't really be used as function buttons, lest you bump them while playing.

Lets see, you could just use the good ol' Dymo labeler, but even then you're going to have a hard time getting the labels to stick to the concave buttons. I would probably go with something along the lines of white-out, or white paint pen. They also make a silver sharpie that shows up good on black. Then, spray the buttons with a couple coats of clear lacquer (probably best to take the buttons apart, spray only the center plungers).

Well, I was trying to make something that looked professional. None of the suggestions so far will give me that...

I ripped the guts out of mine and rewired it for JAMMA... works well as a test bench unit!
