So I saw District 9 and while at the theater decided to play a game. There were a few machines either off or tagged as out of order - more than normal at this location. The had a Star Trek Voyager and the GF likes to play shooter so we tried it - mistake. The P2 gun would not register on the screen. The screen would flash but the light sensor in the gun was not registering. The screen needed a degauss for sure (rainbow of colors in the bottom corners).

I got the 800 # for the operator and plan to call and complain about the state of their equipment. The problem I see with lots of these game rooms is that the theaters and other large retailers have gone with one or two large operators that don't necessarily have local techs so the machines get checked maybe once a month. This was not a problem when there were "little guys" setting machines. Of course, those days are gone.

The brand new cinema locally has a decent gameroom, but it is filled with brand spanking new flashy machines. Almost since day one, the NFS racer has had an out of order tag on it. Seriously, wouldn't that at least be under warranty still? The cinema just opened 2 months ago!

I actually talked with the operator about maintaining this location, but I was late to the table. Obviously whoever he has isn't doing his job...

I even wonder if anyone plays the games. Me and the wife like to play the 24 pin there. We won yet another free game, but had to make our movie. I told her that I bet the credit will still be there when we got out of the movie...it was.

You really enjoy that pin? I haven't had a chance to play one yet. I'm afraid the theme puts me off a bit - is it a good playfield layout?

It is a pretty good machine. Obviously the rules are incomplete and it has a few of the standard Stern playfield design flaws, but still a good game.
