So, this machine was working. Stored for months (not climate controlled). Has switcher installed. It was reading 5.30 v at the PS. Board previously worked on - several ROMS replacef and resistor packs replaced. See below. Any ideas appreciated.



Installed a working replacement and all is fine. Need to check board voltage.
 
Sounds great as it is, but I guess you want it fixed :(

Best place to start is to disconnect and reconnect the ribbon cables a couple of times. A load of flakyness stems from oxidised connectors. Also be very careful if you move onto reseat all the socketed chips. Firstly because the black custom chips are extremely fragile and the legs snap of very easily. Secondly if there are any old style resistor packs on the board they are very fragile too, one knock and you can never really trust it again.
