Hi everyone,

Not exactly sure where to post this, but hopefully this will work. I've started a service called Andy's Arcade Bus which takes people from South Bend, Indiana to the Galloping Ghost Arcade near Chicago. Please see the website below for details. The first trip is set for Sunday, November 12th. Please spread the word to anyone you think might be interested. If I can't get 37 seats filled, there will be no trip! And if you have any suggestions about where else to spread the word, please let me know.

Thanks!
Andy

I'd be bummed if I bought seat #36 and it was cancelled. Those charters must be expensive to run. Hope this works out for you.

Cool. I rode the Amtrak to Chicago and took the L out to the ghost. Was worth the trip! Looking forward to going back.

This sounds like a really cool event.
Hope you can get enough people together to make it happen.
I was in Chicago back in April for work and was luck enough to go there one evening.
Really neat place with an incredible selection of games.

If I got up to 36 I'd go ahead with it. But yes, the charter is expensive! And in order not to lose money on it, most/all seats need to be filled. I just need to find the arcade fanatics around here...

I don't live there, but $50 ain't bad for all that you get!
Thanks! I think it's important to keep costs down as much as possible, esp. at first. At best it's a side-money venture.

Thanks a lot! I hope so, too. It's frustrating how long it can take for an idea to take hold! But I'm not giving up yet.

not sure what your angle/logistics are, but you should sell booze if you can
Selling booze isn't my speciality, but I take your point! Alcohol is allowed on the bus, with a $200 refundable deposit. We'd certainly have a happy group!!

not mine either, but mark-up on alcohol is generally 300 - 400% of cost, making it highly profitable

HOWEVER ... i'd imagine there's a ton of laws you'd have to accommodate and you've also got the whole "inter-state travel" thing going. i know things can get very "red tape'y" moving from state-to-state when booze is involved

Big difference between being allowed to have booze on the bus vs selling booze on the bus. I'd bet selling is not allowed

I have a friend in South Bend who's been wanting to visit Galloping Ghost.

And I have 6 seats in my minivan. Small scale version. We should totally do this! :)

I think you should! But my silly bus idea is dead. Don't know what I was thinking there...
